Kiel University (Christian-Albrechts-Universitat zu Kiel, CAU) was founded in 1665 and is the only full university in the federal state of SchleswigHolstein. Seven Noble prize winners have worked
at CAU and it is part of Germany’s excellence
initiative since 2006.
